The Class
I try to look at a wide range of artists and art styles as well as developing each child's own unique style.
We look at different media and techniques and have lessons which will follow a topic or project for a number of weeks and stand alone sessions.
Artists we have explored have included: Bridget Riley, Joseph Cornell, Klee, Escher, Picasso, Matisse, Vincent Van Gogh, Bonnard, Giacometti, Miro, Kandinsky and Henry Moore.
We have created projects around the art of the Haida People, Canada, Japanese origami, Roman Mosaics and Chinese fans.
Each child receives a sketch book when they subscribe to the class.
We use all sorts of media including: water-colour painting, pastels - chalk and oil, pencils, water soluble pencils, charcoal, acrylic painting, ink, drawing with natural pigment, mosaics, clay work, found object sculpture, relief printmaking, mono printing, collographs, wire sculpture and pen.
Most importantly the classes are designed to be an exciting place to explore your creativity.
Children receive lots of support and encouragement to really explore art and develop their natural ability.
At the end of a project or class the children know that what they have created is all their own work and they can proudly take it home
to display in the knowledge they did it!
Please see The Art Club Gallery page to see some of the wonderful work the children have created.
They inspire me.
